This past week and a half – since We Survivors launched on October 22 – has been incredible. I’ve sold 80 copies of my book (some eBook, some paperback), had almost 4,000 Kindle Unlimited page reads, and made it into the top 50 on a few Amazon bestseller lists (it was even briefly above the Hunger Games prequel and The Maze Runner on a couple of lists!).
Launch day was so much fun. I had a lot of support from the #WritingCommunity on Twitter, my Instagram followers, and my Wattpad readers. I played a game where someone gave me a number, 1-400, and I tweeted a line from that page of the book, and one of my favorite authors from this year, Jen DeLuca, played! My local writing group also happened to have an informal meeting that night, so I was able to celebrate with those writers too.
My first reviews have begun to trickle in on Amazon, Goodreads, and NetGalley, and they’ve been positive! We Survivors has been sold in five countries (US, UK, Australia, Canada, and Germany), and even made it onto a classroom bookshelf. I also sold my first signed copy!
These first 10 days have been an incredible experience. I’ve learned so much and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for We Survivors and for me. 🙂
Now excuse me while I go panic because it’s the first day of NaNoWriMo and I’m really not sure at all that I’m capable of drafting a 50,000 word novel in 30 days!
